Some of the emails I get are so funny. Like, why don't you get a URL? Well, have you tried www.punksishippies.com? I also get people asking why all the links have expired, well that's a outright lie: sure, 10 zines out of some +200 zines posted here needs to be uploaded, but since noone is asking for it I though I might as well wait until the new website is ready.
Until then, here's a bunch of GRIND & NOISE zines that I found posted at some forum. I am sure the original uploader won't mind. Sorry for the duplication in some of the links below.
LINK 1: Chaotic Noise #3, Destroy The World #5, and Mutilated Carcass #4.
LINK 2: GOCHARGE zine.
LINK 3: PHALLIC ENDOPURULENCE fanzine issues 1-3 ["Mike Duncan's old fanzine from the early 90's. Scanned from the original master pages.']
LINK 4: Chaotic Noise #3, Nyktofobia #7, Savannatarashi #1, Sister King Kong #3 + stuff from Mutilated Carcass #3 and Scab Mag #3
Thanks, please remember to leave a comment here or in the messageboard. Or else I might as well start posting my own DIY homemade hard core porno fanzines...

RIOT (UK) issues 5, 6, 7 & 8

Paul got in touch after finding his way to Punks Is Hippies and asked me if I wanted a stack of zines that he had laying around collecting dust. Now, whereas I obviously welcome all and any help with this blog/website/project I think that ultimately the real thing - the paper version of a zine- is the best format to read zines and I would therefore encourage people to keep hold of their old zines and rather give scanning a go themselves (it is actually not that tricky when it all comes down to it, takes about 10-20 minutes for a zine when you know what to do).
Paul:
"Anyway I have got the issues of Riot that I have, scanned and RARed and hopefully on Rapidshare so there should be a link in here for you to try, if it works( it does for me) please post it on PIHblog for all the other zine freaks. I will try and start the Problem Childs next, they are pretty big beasts so it may take a while!"
"THE LINK! http://rapidshare.com/files/112943892/Riot5to8.rar. Just looked through these again, Mr Riot had avery good thing going on here, what a shame it had to stop..."
MANY THANKS PAUL!!!!
For me personally, this zine always hold a special place for me, not only was RIOT beautifully handwritten with prestine layout but "Joe Riot" was rather early I think when it came to some of the bands he writes about. An important voice back before the internet - punk historians take note: don't forget the zines! (Me as an historian myself, sort of, intended this site to perhaps become something like a resource to be used too by people writing punk monologues.)
Finally I am just going to say that as Papst Benedict keep saying, that this zine (perhaps) proves the point that PdFs are best for viewing online. Perhaps it's an individual zine thing?
And bytheways, I have begun today to migrate this blog to Wordpress because of its enhanced design capabilities over blogspot. But instead of importing all posts and reposting them there I am manually moving each zine, making subpages and a more structured website so it will be some time before it will be able to go "live". Some additional features at the new site will be a proper index group after country, name, bands interviewed etc. There will also be some space (I hope) for the more additional things that I mentioned in the beginning, such as transcripts of interviews, translations of foreign stuff, enhanced links and generally this I hope will make it a valuable resource for all and sundry. Needlesstosay, you will be informed as and when you need to update bookmarks etc (if you use the www.punksishippies.com URL then you don't need to do anything).

Damaging Noise no. 1-8 (Full run)

Do you know how lucky you are that PUNKS IS HIPPIES exists, for you to be able to come here and casually grab lots of free zines?
This is the complete run of DAMAGING NOISE newsletter / fanzine made by the one and only Sean "Seanocide" "Noizepug" Hogan (are you trying to become Snotlewd with your cool names or what? LOL). Intense fascination with music, vastly elaborated tracts on obscurities and commonbodies alike -mirrored perhaps only by the likes of Kugelberg and whatshisface. Ok I am exaggerating but whatever, this damn Seonocide dude is a genius -here he takes the same format of GAME OF THE ARSEHOLE and twists it to a fuzzbox. You will imagine that there is a grey tunnel at the end of the dark light (or some other type of obvious biased nonsense).
Added bonus 3 page article on Japanese noisepunk as well as a 2-pager CHAOS CHANNEL interview.
You need this.

BLACK PLAUGERS READ NOW!

Via Cosmic Hearse, here's the Black Plague fanzine, "the official voice of the reclusive Les Legions Noire, and you won't see interviews with some of these bands anywhere else. Featured within the pages of this infernal tome is Vlad Tepes, Mutiilation, Belketre, Black Murder and more. Don't worry it's in English, but should probably be read by candlelight."
Remember kids, contributions to this website is so damn cool you might shit yaself thinkin aboutit.

Drunk Nach Osten zine #1
"Drunk Nach Osten zine #1 is all in English, .pdf file & contains interviews with DISTRESS/KOMATOZ (Russia), FxPxOx/THIS HOME IS PREPARED (Macedonia) and ADIEXODO (Greece); Tour reports of KURWA APARATA and FESTA DESPERATO/RISPOSTA; Prehistory of Czechoslovakian punk (translation of the book "Kytary a rev", to be continued), lyrics, reviews...- put out in autumn 2007.
It also has a downloadable version of the 37 track cdr that came with the print issue. All bands feature in the zine, and are all from Eastern Europe and a fine mix of styles (no pop). 100% D.I.Y. and well worth reading / listening."
Thanks to IrishDave for his magnificent research and obvious unbeatable description which have been quoted in full.

Destroy 6.5 (UK, Punk, Crust & Jap)

This is a big file but we all have broadbands and besides if you want Pdf then you can get it yourself. This zine has lots of potential which I think it sadly fails to live up to; still a cool one (and I hope my zine will be like this but much better, lol).

Well, you decide. I just set this up as a way to build information, get in touch and all that nonsense. If this works out nicely I'll integrate it with the website that I am supposed to be writing; if it turns sour, then I'll just delete the whole damn thing.

Request Post
Anyone's got any of the 7 or 8 or so issues of RIOT FANZINE? Get in touch. I wanna read that shit again. Health Hazard, Chicago beerfests and sqautties in dreadlocks playing stoner grind crust before it turned into d-beat. First bunch of issues were painstakenly handwritten, the layout was like something straight off the back of some Amebix vinyl. Great stuff.
Irony is that I of course had pretty much the complete run of Riot, tucked up somewhere in my parents house. Last Christmas I asked if my mum had seen my old fanzine collection:
-Yes, she had seen it.
-Well, where is it then?
-I threw it in the recycling box but I kept your school books...
DOH!
Here's a review from somewhere:
RIOT #7 / 32pgs.Joe always seems to put out a great 'zinefocusing mainly on the musical side ofpunk with interesting interviews and reviews up the ass. This issue's got Health Hazard, Econochrist, Dead Wrong , Crossed Out, Chris Dodge, Hellnation, Drop Dead and Hiatus. Nice, clear photos and a couple columns hold everything together in one hell of a great 'zine. Keep it up! FB (RIOT, JOE RIOT, 21 EBNAL ROAD, SHREWSBURY, SHROPSHIRE SY2 6PW. £1 +A5 SAE PUNK)

No excuses for lack of updates, and this is a filler for sure...

Dirty Skate Mags of Yester Yore is a San Francisco skatezine exhibition that may or may not be still on if anyone is around the neighborhood and into that kind of shit. Here is a blogpost by someone who went with some cheerful pictures. News stolen from pigpin uk's blog. This actually reminds me that I have seen some websites where you can download full scans of skatezines from the 1980s; the links however I have forgotten (if I find them I'll paste 'em in comments). Do I daresay that some of these zines are of at least peripheral interest for punk historians?

INSIDE FRONT # 8 (enhanced)
I´ve reupped this one as my divshare download limit is reached once again and as Hr. Burgher wanted me to include the cd that came with it, which I did this time! as you might know the cd has 2 tracks by those stupid fucks called ONE LIFE CREW which I wanted to exclude but as I forgot to do that I´ll tell you that when their guitar player was on tour here in europe with another band (sorry, I forgot their name) and was criticized for their shitty lyrics by a friend of mine he tried that tough guy shit threatening my friend that he would beat him up etc.... my friend however is no coward so he slapped the table, screaming: "ok, you and me! here and now!" and now guess what happened? the little wussy backed out in fear! he was to scared to try my friend in a one on one! that´s how tough these idiots are if the odds are not in their favor 5 to 1! now if you wanna listen to such idiots - DO IT! as you deserve no better!

Not much to say really, if you liked the previous ones you'll enjoy this one as well.
Bugs And Drugs #3
ABOUT ZINES NOT WRITTEN IN ENGLISH:
I guess I speak for all of our merry crew if I say this:
I´d especially like to see zines from countries with a muslim population! as there are / were bands from such countries there should be zines too!
b.t.w.: as I found this stack of zines (actually I found 3 times as much but some years in my cellar did some of them not really good) and I planned on trading some of them to Hr. Burhger against records but as I don´t think Slobo should be the only one who spends money on an archive that should be for everyone I decided I´d contribute them to the archive for free if masterblogger Hr. Burgher has a place where the zines can be stored without fucking up! and as he is being a father soon his crib is not exactly what I´d call a wise storage place! any suggestions?
RÖCKIN NOIZ IZ IN DA HOUZE!

malisha old666 of RÖCKIN NOIZ blog contributed this:
Hi!
Anyway, hope you'll like these.
Cheers
took care of this in spite of being not Hr. Burgher and like to ad this: fell free to scan zines in every language! this shall be a zine archive and as you might have noticed there are zine written in german, japanese,... which isn´t readable for most of the visitors! but that doesn´t matter as we´re trying to give an as broad as possible overview of our culture! if I can´t read it I still might enjoy the artwork or whatever!
ABC PARTISAN GIG
to be honest: I don´t know what this is all about as it´s all in japanese. it has a hiatus interview, some artwork and some what the fuck do I know?
